¡Hola!

I work with a variety of clays in order to find my palette of colors and textures predominated by tones of linen and of ground spices. The pinch method I use to make the pieces leaves visible traces of hands and makes them familiar to the hands that will hold them thereon.

‘Lur’ as a word simply means ‘soil’ and my goal is to bring a mixed variety of clays to the table as a metaphor to illustrate that diversity and impurities are also essential.

I’m a graphic designer and I’ve always chosen clay as my preferred canvas. I co-operate a design workspace for small batch handmade ceramics near Los Angeles where we host a bimonthly open studio. For updates on the shop and dates of upcoming events sign up to the Lur newsletter.
